Leadership: Senator Mikulski has been committed to ocean and estuary health throughout her 35 years of public service. She’s a longtime supporter of the Chesapeake Bay Program, which works across jurisdictions to bring groups together in order to reduce bay pollution and restore water quality. She has also made protecting the Chesapeake a main priority and continues to fight to reduce pollution, restore fisheries, reduce stormwater pollution, and mitigate the impacts of global warming on the bay.
Senator Mikulski has a strong record of fighting to protect the marine resources of Maryland from habitat destruction, overfishing, and the impacts of climate change.
