Leadership: Rep. Heck views Washington and the 10th District as truly blessed with remarkable natural resources that must be preserved for the future. He knows that taking care of those resources will create opportunities to grow Washington’s economy through clean energy projects and the creation of green jobs. Rep. Heck understands that job growth from the clean energy sector will accrue to the countries that lead, and believes that Congress must act now to ensure that America becomes the center of clean energy research and manufacturing, with the state of Washington playing an important role.
Rep. Heck knows how important sustainable management of ocean resources is to Washington, and has seen how Warren Magnuson’s fishery conservation law, and innovative fisheries management programs are helping Pacific Northwest fisheries rebound. He also knows that ocean acidification is devastating Washington’s shellfisheries and knows that the problem must be addressed. In our view, given his innovative vision and success in both the public and private sectors, there is no one better able to lead Washington’s 10th District through these challenges and opportunities than Rep. Heck.
