Leadership: Rep. Gilchrest has long placed conservation of our ocean resources as one of his top Congressional priorities. He was a key player in the passage of the Sustainable Fisheries Act of 1996, and again played a leading role in pushing through a strong reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Act in 2006. He is also a cosponsor of the 2007 Save Our Shores Act.
