“It’s time to listen to the scientists and get serious about climate change. The evidence is in. The only question now is whether Congress will listen and act.”

Leadership: Representative DeFazio has fought to improve the economies of Oregon’s rural communities through renewable resource development, while ensuring that forestry practices improve forest health, prevent catastrophic fires, and protect irreplaceable old growth. He has achieved many major accomplishments in preserving Oregon’s natural resources, including a log export ban from federal lands and an improved public forest management program. Representative DeFazio is serious about climate change, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and creating jobs by building a new energy economy. He believes in firmly cracking down on GHG emissions and supports legislation that forces polluters to clean up or pay up.
